a quiet moment to end the week with inspiration through Photography and Words

“Light doesn't ask permission - it just transforms.”

Friday photo inspiration ;I noticed a little “face” in this weathered plank of wood, knots for eyes, a small, tired mouth. Years of rain, sun and pressure have carved out something strangely human. It reminded me of a line from a prayer by Joshua Luke Smith: “You are both a work of art, and an artist at work.”

"You are both a work of art, and an artist at work"

This is both a Simple Photography Tip-reminding you that as you look, you see things differently. See the face in the timber? A piece of weathered wonder on a Devon beach. The result of "that you may look until you see"

If you focus on the weathered face, it and I have much in common!!

But what really stands out for me is that however imperfact I may be, I have been created and therefore I am a work of art. And as I photograph and blog to encourage you, I am an artist at work.

Do you still look in the mirror?

Or did you quietly stop, years ago?

Perhaps it’s time to look again – and to begin accepting that what you see is “knots and lines”. They are not flaws; they’re evidence. Evidence that you have lived, loved, carried weight, and kept going.

As you slowly accept that deep down, you will become more beautiful than you ever were.

Because your greatest calling is not surface perfection, but a growing inner beauty.
