Subscriber-only membership

A calm space to practise seeing — opening to blog subscribers.

I wanted to let you know about something I’ve been developing quietly over the past few months.

I’m creating a small photography membership; not a course, and not a busy online group; but a calm, supportive space for people who want to slow down, notice more, and grow in confidence with their photography.

It values care over speed, encouragement over competition, and attention over noise.

It’s built on the belief that learning to see takes time, and that the right environment makes all the difference.

It’s about training your eye, developing your sense of ‘seeing’, and enjoying the craft in a supportive community.

The goal isn’t filling seats. It’s finding the right ones.

One important point from the outset: the membership will be available only to blog subscribers. It won’t be open to the general public.

I also want to be clear about how it will begin:

I’ll be opening it with small numbers. That isn’t a limitation, it’s an advantage. I’d like the community to develop properly, with the right tone, the right pace, and the right people.

Here’s what membership will include:

• a weekly “Try This” - a simple idea drawn from something I’ve shared, designed to be put into practice in your own photography• the option to upload what you make, inspired by that week’s idea• thoughtful, positive critique from fellow members in a kind, non-competitive environment - a safe place to share, discuss, ask questions, and learn together

If you’d like to be included in the first small group, please register your interest here:

There’s no expectation to take part every week. You’re invited to try things, not obliged to keep up.

I’ll be inviting people in gradually so the community has time to find its feet.

There will also be a short settling-in period, so you can decide calmly whether it’s right for you.

If this feels like your sort of thing, you’d be very welcome. If not, that’s completely fine.

I’ll share more details soon.

All good wishes,

Michael
