go and catch leaves - it's one of the best ways of healing - must-do activity

Colourful autumn leaves in Netherlands beech wood

Not a simple photography tip as such, but more like life inspiration through a walk.

Twice in the last week we've been out for a woodland walk - the leaves are falling off the trees, sometimes singly, if there's a breeze, in their droves. it's called abscission by the way.

We then started trying to catch leaves as they fell, that final phase between leaving the tree and landing, interrupted by a pair of eager hands. This is a must-do activity.

Please go and try it, take yourself, with family if you have one, and just play the game - it is surely one of the most mentally restorative things you can do. Especially if you pause and admire the leaf you catch.

You're even allowed to smile, laugh, yell, squeal or whatever - this is complete release.

JUST GO AND CATCH LEAVES BEFORE THEY REACH THE GROUND - AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW MANY YOU CATCH!
