A Year of Inspiration -Photography desk diary 2027 - "Thirteen Months of Seeing" - Simple Photography Tips by Michael Blyth.
About a year ago, I Had The Idea Of Creating a Photography desk diary 2027

I got in touch with a few people who enjoy my style of photography. The response was an overwhelming yes, accompanied by more than one, “I’ll buy one for each member of the family as a stocking present.”
So, here we are. The design is almost complete, and I am now sorting out the printing.

Each spread pairs one of my photographs with a week-to-view diary page.
Although it is designed first and foremost as a straightforward and rather lovely desk diary, I was encouraged to include a few simple suggestions with each photograph that might add character and pleasure to your own photography.

Each image has been chosen not only because it is worth enjoying, but because there is something within it to notice: composition, timing, light, balance, patience, or simply the value of looking more carefully.

Alongside each photograph is a short explanation of what helped the image to work, or something you might try for yourself.
At the bottom of the facing diary page is a brief line of inspiration drawn from the image: a thought to carry into the week ahead, similar to my Friday Image with Words

The result is intended to be something useful, something beautiful to have on your desk, and something that may encourage you to notice more of the world around you. And something to give as a gift, to friend or colleague.

I've always wanted a diary that doesn't end at the critical New Year point, so the diary runs for 58 weeks, from Christmas 2026 to the end of January 2028, and contains 58 photographs inside, plus one on the cover. A pre-order facility for my Photography Desk Diary 2027 is coming soon.
