The way is not always clear from where we stand.
But The Way Becomes Clear as We Walk It
.

There are moments on a walk when the route ahead seems to disappear.
From where we stand, the path is unclear.
It bends behind rocks, appears to be swallowed by the landscape. We can see enough to know that there is a way forward, but not enough to understand the whole route.
To me that expresses much about life.
We often want the whole map before we move.
We want certainty, reassurance, confirmation and a clear view of what lies beyond the next corner.
But so often we are given something much smaller and, perhaps, much more useful: the next step.
This photograph was taken in the Pyrenees, on one of those mountain paths where the landscape is vast, and the route only becomes clear by continuing to walk.
Stop too long and the way can look confusing. Maybe this week you've just had to trudge on, trusting that the way is ahead.
Move carefully and attentively, and the path begins to reveal itself.
There is a quiet wisdom in that.
Psalm 119:105 says, “Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” Not a floodlight over the whole mountain. Not a guarantee that every turn will be visible before we begin. Just enough light for the ground beneath our feet.
Perhaps that is enough for today, for now, uncertain of whether to change what you do?.
The way is not always clear from where we stand. Sometimes it reveals itself only as we walk.
A small tip When photographing a path, road or track, try to let it lead the eye somewhere uncertain. A path that disappears round a bend, behind a rock, into trees, or over a rise often creates more interest than one that shows everything at once. The image I've used is not ideal in this respect as the path leads out of the picture - but maybe it works well on this occasion.
Mystery invites the viewer into the photograph, do you agree, let me know. Does it inspire you, let me know.
Every Friday I post an image with words that I hope may help. If you'd like to see them regularly, please SUBSCRIBE. That way you won't miss anything - after all we never know what image or words are going to land well.
