a quiet moment to end the week with A reminder; in photography and in life, where you place your focus changes what you find.

Don't Let The Bad Days Shade The Good
It’s surprisingly easy to focus on the bad days. They overwhelm. They pull focus. They take up the frame.
But the good days, and the good moments inside the bad days, often whisper.
Try shutting your eyes and listen - perhaps there's the sound of a bird calling - in Europe that's often the Robin or the Blackbird.
A small practice for today: before you go to bed, name three good things.
Tiny is fine.
A kind message.
A warm drink.
A patch of sunlight.
A moment of peace.
This image was made during my Nordic Walking trip on the Tour de Queyras, a place that gently insists you slow down and see what’s already there. It had rained heavily the day before, and we set off early into air that was better than the finest champagne.
Has something happened this week that's left a deep darkness, or hurt. Search as hard as your soul will let you, for something good that happened. If you can't think of anything, than pick up your mobile, or even better a pen and paper, and write a kind note to someone else who's struggling. It will change you, as well as them.
And if you haven’t signed up yet, please consider subscribing to stay connected and support this shared journey of creativity, inspiration, and occasional broken and smelly stuff. If you’ve subscribed, you’re very welcome to become more involved in the journey; Phase 2 is a quiet, supportive space to put things into practice, and to gently recover the part of you that can get lost in the busyness of life, that you may look until you see.

I used the Cicerone Guides, they're great. https://www.cicerone.co.uk
